2009 南國書香節，《臺灣出版與數位內容產業研討協會》首次參展

南國書香節至今已舉辦了五屆，展場面積1.7萬平方米，規模比2008年擴大了一倍。有600多家國內外出版機構參展，參展出版物達到16萬種，各類文化活動近百場。

　2009年，“南國書香節”被中宣部和新聞出版總署評為“全國全民閱讀活動優秀項目”。
每年舉辦一次“南國書香節”已被列入《廣東省建設文化強省規劃綱要》，成為廣東文化強省建設十項工程的重要組成部分。
 　近幾年“南國書香節”的成功舉辦，得到了廣東省委、省政府主要領導的高度重視，展場規模不斷擴大，覆蓋面和影響力遍及全省，展銷內容、活動形式和參展群體呈現出多元化、多樣化和國際化的特點。
