Abstract

In recent more than ten years, China National Engineering Research Center for Human

Settlements (CNERCHS) has accumulated rich experience on the research of the theory and

implementation in the field of residence and health and launched 59 pilot projects in 42 towns of
China thus laying a solid foundation for the development of healthy residence in China. In this

paper, the research and development regarding indicator system of healthy housing and frame of

“Evaluation Standard on Healthy Housing” are introduced as well as the research background and

the idea of working out the standard. Besides, it is discussed how to guide all aspects of the society
concerning about health, healthy buildings and healthy human settlement based on the marketing

promotion mode on healthy housing. Also the research course, main contents and expectation in

future are expounded here, which are of great significance on eliminating or reducing dangerous
factors in residential environment and effectively improving the quality of life and health of the

residents.
